Set Up Campus Portal Advancement Officers
Advancement Officers Feature Setup (optional)
Follow the checklist below in order. This checklist provides tasks arranged in a helpful sequence that allow a user to access and start working with these features.
General Configurations
Verify or create an ID Number in the Name Entity and Users windows.The ID Number is required to allow the user to be assigned to the appropriate Campus Portal roles and to be assigned proper permissions to access J1 Desktop information.
Verify or configure JICS Base and JICS ADVO to Y (Maintain Config Table window).
Verify or create a Campus Portal login and password for each Advancement Officer user (Maintain Web Access Code window).
Verify or assign the user to the appropriate Campus Portal role (Role Membership window).
Configure the display of names (UI Config window).
Add features to the Advancement Officers page (Admin Toolbar > Add a new feature to this page).
Grant selected Campus Portal roles access to the Advancement Officers pages (Admin Toolbar > Access; may vary according to your portal setup).
Campaign Management
Verify or define staff/volunteer roles (Staff/Volunteer Role Definition window).
Verify or establish the Staff/Volunteer role to be displayed as Campaign Managers (Internet Configuration window).
Verify or assign users to the campaign’s staff/volunteer role (Campaign Detail window).
Verify or associate a campaign contact ID to a constituent (Work with Relationships window).
Verify or add the feature to the Advancement Officers page (Admin Toolbar > Options > Add a new feature to this page).
Grant select portal roles global access to Campaign Management (Site Manager > Global Portlet Operations page in Campus Portal; may vary according to your portal setup.)
Grant select portal roles permission to feature instance-specific capabilities (Admin Toolbar > Access; may vary according to your portal setup).
Planned Giving
Verify or add the feature to the Advancement Officers page (Admin Toolbar > Options > Add a new feature to this page).
Grant select portal roles global access to Planned Giving (Admin Toolbar > Access; may vary according to your portal setup).
Donor Profiles
Verify or configure search settings, if degree history information, relationship notations, and notes from Communications Management will be displayed, and the number of gifts, contacts, and pledges to display (Internet Configuration window).
Verify or assign groups' information processing and notification privileges when Campus Portal information is submitted to J1 Desktop (Assign Processing and Notification Rights window).
Verify or configure the SMTP relay and e-mail scheduler to allow users to receive e-mail notifications. For more information, see the Notification System topics in the J1 Desktop Online Help (Home > Common > Notification System Overview).
Verify or create the appropriate user groups (Group Definition window) to be assigned processing and notification privileges. Jenzabar automatically provides several standard user groups, but your organization may want to create groups tailored to your organization.
Verify or enter an e-mail address for users receiving e-mail notifications, and verify or select the Notification Enabled? checkboxes for the users (Name Entity window).
Verify the appropriate tables and columns are available for mapping columns to questions in the Form Builder forms (Review Submission Mapping Details window). If your organization uses custom tables and they need to be available for your Campus Portal, add the table using the Manage Mapping Tables window.
Verify or add the feature to the Advancement Officers page (Admin Toolbar > Options > Add a new feature to this page).
Grant select portal roles global access to Donor Profiles and global feature capabilities (Site Manager > Global Portlet Operations page; may vary according to your portal setup).
Grant select portal roles permission to instance-specific feature capabilities (Admin Toolbar > Access; may vary according to your portal setup).
Establish how many days after updates have been made they are to be purged (Admin Toolbar > Settings tab in Campus Portal; may vary according to your portal setup).
Add, edit, order, or delete tabs from the Constituent Detail page (Setup page).
Configure direct updates (Set Up Direct Updates page).
Stewardship and Grants Management
Verify or associate individuals with gift categories (Gift Category Detail window).
Verify or add the feature to the Advancement Officers page (Admin Toolbar > Options > Add a new feature to this page).
