My GPA Projection
The My GPA Projection feature allows students to enter possible grades for their current classes and predict their term GPA and overall GPA. Students can also use this feature to provide two of three possible variables (Additional Credits, Average GPA for Additional Credits and Resulting GPA) and use these variables to calculate the third variable.
The cumulative GPA will not be displayed until an academic recalc is run. Also, current courses are only available for the current Year and Term.
The Current Term Projection tab displays your Career GPA, Career Credits, and a list of the current courses in which you are registered. It also allows you to enter possible grades for a student's current classes to predict their term GPA and career GPA.
The GPA Calculator tab allows you to customize the criteria to use when you calculate your projected GPA. You can provide two of three possible variables (Additional Credits, Average GPA for Additional Credits, and Resulting GPA) to calculate the third variable.
From the My GPA Projection feature, select the Division in the drop-down list box and click the Go button.
The Current Term Projection tab is displayed. Career GPA, Career Credits, and a current Course List are displayed.
In the Course List section, select the Include checkbox for each course you want to be included in the grade projection.
In the Projected Grade drop-down list box, choose the grade you want to use for each course to be included in the grade projection.
Click the Create Projection button to generate the projected GPA.
Based on the student's past course history and the projection options entered, the Projected Results section displays Earned Credits, GPA Credits, GPA for Selected Courses, and Career GPA.
You can change the Projected Grade and click the Create Projection button to generate data based on the criteria entered.
Click the Reset button to clear the Course List selections.
From the My GPA Projection feature, select the Division in the drop-down list box and click the Go button.
Click the GPA Calculator tab.
Select one of the following options:
Use your actual Career GPA/Credits
Use the results from the Projection Tab
Enter numbers into two of the three boxes:
Additional Credits
Average GPA for the Additional Credits
Resultant GPA
Click the Calculate button to determine the remaining box's value. For more accurate results, enter values into the GPA boxes with 4 decimal places. The resulting values may not be realistic depending upon the values you entered.
Notice
Your current GPA is 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. You project for 30 additional credits and want to see if you could achieve a resultant GPA of 4.0. Calculating this value results in a GPA of over 4.0; however, as 4.0 is the maximum GPA, the feature will only report that you need a 4.0 to achieve the desired results.
The Calculated Results section displays the resulting GPA based on either your actual or projected GPA/Credits and the values you entered.
Click the Reset button to clear the values entered in the criteria boxes so that you can calculate other scenarios.
From the View My Students feature, click the appropriate student name link.
On the student's screen, click the GPA Projection link.
On the GPA Projection screen, select the Division.
Use the Current Term Projection tab to enter a grade for each course and then click the Create Projection button to calculate the Career GPA.
Tip

Use the GPA Calculator tab to calculate either Additional Credit, Average GPA for the Additional Credits, or Resultant GPA. Enter a value for two of the variables and click the Calculate button to get the value of the third variable.
