Previewing and Testing a Form
Prior to using a form, there are two standard methods by which you can view the form as it would be displayed to the user and, optionally, test it by filling it out and submitting it.
Preview the form from within Form Builder; then display, fill out, and submit the form while in preview mode. If an error occurs, error details are displayed on the screen for troubleshooting purposes.
Go to the feature and display the form as a user (i.e., a candidate or student) would, fill it out, and submit it. If an error occurs, the system displays a brief message stating that there was a problem and writes the error details to the application log of the web server.
One additional option relates only to the Employment Position Management feature for employment application forms. In this case, the employment application form can be previewed by using the Preview option on an approved position request. If an error occurs, the system displays a brief message stating that there was a problem and writes the error details to the application log of the web server.
To preview a form:
Open the form for editing.
Click on the Preview this form link.
The form is displayed as it would appear to a user accessing the form from the feature.
Review the form.
If there are changes you wish to make to the form, click the Back to the Form Builder link at the bottom of the screen to return to the Form Builder: Name of your form screen.
To test the data validation on the form and/or submit the form:
Enter data in the fields of the form being previewed.
Click the Submit button at the end of the form.
If the form does not allow a payment, you return to the Form Builder: Name of your form screen. If the form requires a payment, you may continue on to the Payments feature to finalize the transaction.
