J1 Mapping Tool
Important
Information and features vary according to the roles to which you belong and the permissions associated with those roles. For more information, contact your module manager or your campus support team.
Schools licensed to use Candidate features can map form information to the J1 Desktop Process Internet Submissions window where it can be processed and associated with the candidate’s information. You can map a single question to a table/column or use a collection grid to map several questions to the same row of a single mapping table.
Note
If you plan to send the information candidates enter in your admission form to J1 Desktop, this set up is required.
The Mapping Tool uses the Internet Submissions Mapping page where you can select a form type to see a list of related database tables that can be used for mapping your form data. The base mapping tables are associated to form types via data provided by the installer and mappings to custom tables for various form types are managed using the J1 Desktop Manage Mapping Tables window.
Note
Only those tables associated with the selected form type are available for that form. For example, you cannot use the tables associated with the Admissions Inquiry form type with the Admissions Application form.
Tip
A database connection is not needed for Mapping Tool. It uses the Jenzabar Web Application Services Data Access Layer to connect back to J1 Desktop. The Mapping Tool cannot target any other database.

Click Manage Forms.
Click on the name of the form you want to update.

Online Application/Make an Inquiry
With the Candidate license, you can create an online application for admissions or an inquiry form that maps to the Process Internet Submissions screen in J1 Desktop via the J1 Mapping Tool.
In the tool, you can choose the type of form you’d like to configure and a list of tables available to that form type will be displayed. This list of tables is controlled by J1 Desktop in the Internet Submissions screen.
Events Registration Forms
The Events module provides additional mapping options to J1 Web from FormFlow. While not immediately visible in the J1 Mapping Tool, additional settings are made available in the settings tab of each question on the form. The options available here are pre-determined based on data that the web service API expects for event registrations.
Student Housing Application
The Student feature provides mappings in the J1 Mapping Tool screen in the form of the Housing Application form type. When using this form type, additional fields are displayed in the mapping tool to allow for questions on the form to be mapped to data points that the API end point for housing applications expects.
