Description

Focuses on and explores the role of oral history as a significant and emerging component of history as well as a methodology for researching and writing about the lives of the people living the history. Students consider and discuss the role of memory, memoir, and oral narratives surrounding diverse cultures, innovations, and events. Students will become familiar with the literature, theory and methodology of oral history and will use this knowledge to conduct oral history interviews and assemble them into usable archive. Corequisite: ENG 111
