Description

A comprehensive study of cardiac and vascular disorders. Topics include pathophysiology, advanced cardiac assessment, detection and treatment of cardiac rhythm disturbances, 12 lead ECG analysis, and treatment of cardiovascular disorders. Lecture and lab sessions include cardiac arrest management, and clinical decision making. Students successfully completing this course will receive a certificate in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). There is an additional cost for this certification. Prerequisite(s): EMS 130 or matriculation into the Paramedic Certificate Program Corequisite(s): None
