Description

Emphasizes the principles and conventions of diagnosis and procedural coding systems used in today's healthcare setting. Emphasis is placed on ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS Classification Systems. Other topics in the course include: professional ethics, content of the medical record, data validity and integrity, legal standards related to reimbursement, and retrieval of information.
