Description

Provides an in-depth study of the development and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers based on an understanding and knowledge of child development, individual children, the group of children, and community and program goals. Topics will include assessment of children; age-appropriate scheduling and instructional planning; and maintaining a physically and psychologically safe learning environment. Students will develop creative instructional materials and will evaluate and utilize commercially developed products. Prerequisite(s): ECE 200 or commensurate experience Corequisite(s): None
